East Fort Myers properties are available at a lower pricing point than equivalent homes in Cape Coral and most of Fort Myers. The tradeoff being the longer boating run to the open Gulf waters (and beaches). However, as you move further to the East, the quality of the area takes on a unique, more rural feel, some of which is quite scenic and park-like, with very different foliage. Many properties will be on larger acreage, surround by numerous Oak trees. For those who prefer a more 'country' feel to the area, the more Eastern portion of Fort Myers may be a great match. Fort Myers Shores is more suburban than the other options...but given it's location up river, prices are low. Buckingham and Orange River area are very pretty, peaceful areas with a notable number of Manatees in the warm waters. Alva is the furthest East, but typically has the largest acreage too. Note: If you are unfamiliar with the intricacies of the areas waterways, it is recommended that you review the Southwest Florida area overview here. My name is Dan Starowicz and I am a Realtor with Premiere Plus Realty, Co.  My main office is located in SE Cape Coral (4020 S.
